Every day I’m asked, what are the best goalkeeper gloves for kids?


I’ve seen and tried a lot of goalkeeper gloves over the years and I’ve found that to thin of a palm is no good because it wears faster and stings the hands when wet and to thick restricts movement.

Pick a mid range glove around the £10-£15 mark and stay away from the brands if you can. Why? Because the glove in the shop is not the same as the one on the telly!!!

Keepers under the age of 12 should never need to spend over £15 for a training glove and £25 for a match glove.

For this age group try not to get hung up on the spec of the glove a 3mm to 4mm palm is perfect and a nice safe bet is a roll finger palm.

After training for a full 4 hours last night and one other goalkeeper saying “i keep dropping the ball in this weather”

I thought I would give you keepers some quick tips on how to keep your gloves clean and mud free during a game or training, this will allow the keeper the best chance to hold the ball when the parry is not an option.











Quick Tips

1. Towel in the goal to dry gloves so palms are not too wet
2. Bottle of water to help clean mud off then use towel to dry
3. Spare gloves if one pair gets to wet and the towel won’t help
4. Buy an aqua palm glove (J4K Adverse)
5. Mums and dads favourite , wipe the gloves on your top

All goalkeeper gloves wear and tear, none really last longer than the other. I used to go though around 2 to 3 pairs a month and when you’re paying £50 a pair, that’s a lot of money.

My advice is to find a mid range well priced glove as I’m yet to find a long lasting goalkeeper glove. I’ve found all the £30 gloves last as long as the £50+, the j4k gloves are priced at mid range and the gloves are the same or even better than the leading brands, plus there cheaper
